Basically, I'd like to know if there was a Windows version of the Linux browser - Konquerer - available? I'm working using LaTeX, and I'd like to be able to view the resulting PDF file without having to keep closing and opening Adobe Reader. Thanks.

Foxit opens about 10 times faster than adobe reader

there is KDE for windows and I have it installed but I'm in Linux right now so I am pretty sure it has Konqueror but not certain

I will boot into windows now back soon with edit

EDIT:

It is an application that can be removed via add/remove software. Basically, it is in the programs list and brings up a menu with all the catagories seen in a normal 'menu' (windows = Start) button. Then when you go to 'internet' you get to choose from kopete, ktorrent, konqueror etc. It has a 'Graphics' menu, an 'Office' menu and so on. (almost everything is there)

Here is the 'BUT'. It is quite unstable. It doesn't crash windows. Lots of the (about 30-40 in total) applications just don't work properly. The good thing is that konqueror does work. I used it to browse for a whole afternoon when I installed it to try it out.

this link has info on installation and at the very bottom the name of the package you will need to use konqueror and the command needed to shut down background processes after you close all KDE apps ( 'kdeinit4 --terminate' from a command prompt. )

the installer for KDE 4.2.1

There are other options: Run Kubuntu from wubi which is an app for installing ubuntu on windows. Install windows in a VM (virtual machine) from within a Linux Distro. Convert to Linux because you know you want to! I have - windows is solely for running my printer and trying alternative programming options from windows but it never gets booted. Linux is King!

Now I'm not 100% sure but KDE has been ported to the Windows platform and there is a fair chance Konqueror may be available.

i think of Mac is so plenty greater helpful. i take advantage of the two Mac & workstation, yet choose Mac. The OS and interface are so plenty greater powerful in my view. i do no longer could desire to close homestead windows to alter between classes, which saves me time (that's significant because of the fact i'm a picture dressmaker and am continuously on a cut-off date). Macs additionally are not getting viruses like computers do. I additionally think of Macs final plenty longer than computers. In all my years of making use of the two, my computers start up truly lagging after 2 years. certainly one of my Macs is 5 years previous and nonetheless runs besides as once I first have been given it. Macs are greater stable machines. sure, they cost greater, yet you get what you pay for.
