Whats the name of and where can i download a FREE DVD to AVI /DivX (or whatever format) converter?

Question

I've surfed the net for so many hours trying to find a converter to change my DVD collection into a file format such as AVI, DivX, MPG, WMV, whatever format. But i can opnly find one's that say FREE DOWNLOAD, so i download it and it turns out you have to buy a license.

Please can you give me the name and the hyperlink to the webpage of some free converters so that i can change my DVDs to a video format. WMV would be a nice one.

I MIGHT have a program that could convert a ripped DVD movie file from your hard disk into ANY video format of your choice (divx, mpeg4, avi, 3gp, 3gp2, quicktime etc etc etc)



I'm not sure if it will do it directly off of the DVD but the software I have is free (100%) and It can be used to drag,drop multiple video clip files at once into the desired video output format of your choice.



I think there could be a better more sensible solution out there, however I'm sure if you managed to rip the dvd onto hard disk and then convert that file from there using the software I'll reccomend (and provide you with) then you should be okay.



There is a program called DVD-Lab Pro 2, which I had purchased a few years ago, it did all you wanted, but my computer became riddled with spyware, adaware, trojans, viruses and 999,999,999 other interesting registery hijacking entities heh.



I survived, recovered over 80% of my data from the hard disk (most of my porn survived..phew) and learnt my lesson the hard way.

MP4 is protected file so you can`t play it after you burn it to a DVD. So you need convert it to another format and burn it to a DVD. I had a software can do both things, and the best is it`s high quality after I converted my videos. Rip DVD, convert video and burn video onto DVD with one software. That`s the worthest product I got from now on. Their product page here:

I've used handbrake it works awesome. I tried other tools that were really buggy, but handbrake works great. You will have to rip the DVDs first, but those tools are easy to find.



DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter.



The format you want to use is H.264 (.mp4). Just about everything can play them, even xBox 360, PS3, Any computer, iPod.
