Does anyone know if there is any free music making software i can download?

I currently have garage band but it just doesn't cut it. Just wondering if anyone knows any good free music software I can use. I've heard about illegally downloading logic pro etc but does anyone have any more info on that? cheers

audasity is free and very nice. you can record each instrument indevidualy and sinc them together, and you can cut out parts like if some one talks while you are playing you can cut it out, its very nice. look it up on youtube. but its for windows only ( i think, dont quote me on that)
