how i can stop the automatic download upadates.?

when ever i connect to the net windows start downloading updates, which reduces the bytes, i like to stop it.how i can perform.is it good to stop.

There are a couple ways. You need to get into Windows update section,

At the top above the address bar on the toolbar click on



tools> windows Updates, then on the left hand side choose

"change settings" then you can choose not to check for updates or never download etc.



Another way to get into section would be start> control Panel> windows Updates

then again on the left "change settings".



Or even:



start menu > control panel > automatic updates > (depends on your O/S windows xp, vista, 7)

I wouldn't stop automatic updates,Windows downloads updates to keep your computer running good and to solve security issues.It is a must have.
