Has anyone ever used this software in replacement of ms word?

Has anyone ever used Open Office?
Or AbiWord?
I don't have MS Word on my computer, and I need a free alternative.

Open Office is almost a direct copy of Word 2003, you will instantly see how similar they are. Open Office files are saved in .odt file format which can be read by Word 2007 and Word 2010. So if you like Word 2003, this is a very good alternative to shelling out a couple hundred on Office :)

Yes, OpenOffice is very nice and similar to Microsoft Office.



AbiWord is a really lightweight one, and opens much faster than OpenOffice does. However, I don't think it supports images, and is missing some features. However, it is still an excellent alternative for MS Word.

I do it each and every of the time. there are various motives, I used to do an on-air shift at my college radio station and swearing there is an absolute No-No; swearing isn't professional and that i take advantage of relaxing words in the place of work each and every of the time; swearing is offensive to many and that i do no longer opt to accidentally offend (if i visit offend you, i opt to do it intentionally!), etc. some persons are relatively religous so decide directly to no longer use swear words. In all actuality however, words are words. None are stable, none are undesirable. they only have the fee human beings have assigned to them.

Hi.. I have used OpenOffice... Its not like office 2007 or 2010 interface.. If you have worked with earlier versions then it will be very easy for you to use..
