Question:
Once I mount an .ISO and install it can I unmount it?

This curiosity arose with another question I had posted earlier today; being that I have mounted several expansion packs to a game that runs using the latest released disc (which is the one I actually own), can I just go ahead an unmount the expansions being that they're already installed and I don't need them to open the game? Would this uninstall the content?

Yup. Once installed, you don't need the mounted disc images, any more than you'd need the CD/DVDs still to be in the drive when you play the game.

Unmount away! :-)

If the game does not need you to insert the disc, then you can unmount the ISO without losing the game. Its just like installing a game a removing the disk.

no, that would not uninstall the game. unmounting the ISO file is equivalent to ejecting a disc.

After Installation form a mounted file (your .iso or .nrg flie) you need not to keep mounted at all unless or until your Game/Software says you to do so.

Some Games like nfs hotpursuit (old version of NFS) says you to keep your disc during playing.

In other cases you need not to keep on mounted.

Un-mounting would not uninstall your content/application.

:)

As long as you have the nocd crack for your game.
