Hi I have Vista 64-Bit OS. For the last 2 days I can not rename any new folder or sub folder created under the new folder, Even I chnage the name of the folder by clicking the rename I see the same "New Folder". Where as I can change the folders created earlier. This is happening only for the new folders created in the last 2 days

Does it say the file or folder does not exist?

If so, the registries have become corrupt.

The Solution:

First go to "start>controlpanel>offline files"

then click "disable offline files"

Next:

Go to this website

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/69837-new-folder.html

Download the "Newfolderfix.reg" File

Click yes when it asks you to continue to put the file into your registry.

Are you familiar of "hacking the registry"? If so, then run Regedit and make the following entry. If not, call Microsoft or go to there web site and search for this known bug.

Resolution : Create the parameters key in the following location :

HKLM/system/currentcontrolset/services/csc/parameters

Then within the parameters key, create a DWORD Value named

FormatDatabase with a value of 1 (hex) then reboot the machine.
