Long Boot Time and Slow start of Internet Explorer brouser?

My PC is P-III 800 MHz, 393 MB-RAM, Windows Me, Working fine except 2-problems, one is PC boot up takes very long time and second whenever IE is started it takes a long time, I have emptied the Brouser Cache still no change. Any suggestions invited except Formatting hard disk

Windows ME is nearly obsolete, but if you don't want to upgrade your hardware or operating system, you could try uninstalling a bunch of unused programs and fonts. Especially games, toolbars, desktop themes, etc... Get rid of anything that you don't use often, and/or that you don't need hogging up your system resources.



You could also try running a scan for spyware on your computer.

well not a reformat but i would suggest switching to XP and firefox i will never use internet explorer again after learning about firefox plus its faster than IE.

i suggest to change your OS higher than Win Me... if not.. remove all programs that is connected to startup... .. one thing is if you have virus scanner PCcillin.. it is hard to computer to start for P3 unit... or last thing... format your hard disk.... put a new OS....jaz back up your files....
