Alright,
1. Will uTorrent Effect usage of the internet? I play Xbox Live, and I use the laptop I use to download torrents with to give it internet. Sometimes, the DNS server will just stop working. Is it uTorrents fault?

2. Do you need internet to download torrents you have saved to your computer?

3. Is Azereus any better than uTorrent? If so, why?

Thanks alot!

1. No. Torrents in general use ip addresses not domain names.

2. Yes your still downloading of people. Just not using the internet. The file you download is just telling your computer where to look to find the files.

3. No Azereus uses wayyy too much memory since it's java based... (that means your computer will run slower using azereus compared to utorrent)

How do you know that the DNS server (something your provider has on his premises) isn't working?

Remember, you have a certain amount of bandwidth - that's not per device (computer, xbox) it's total. So if you're downloading at a very fast rate (something that rarely happens with torrents), there's not much bandwidth left for the xbox (or for browsing or anything else) - including DNS lookups.

If you've saved the torrent (not the file the torrent will download), of course you need to be connected to the internet to download the file (the only thing you use the torrent file for). Where else did you think you could download it from?

Well...I use uTorrent....and it definitely affect the internet usage if you are downloading something as it will eat a part of your bandwidth. I also play PS3 online & don't use uTorrent while playing online as it affects the speed. I would also advise you not to do so. I don't think its the fault of uTorrent if the DNS stops working (never happened with me). Didn't understand yor second question. If the torrent is already downloaded & saved in your computer...then why need the internet (for that torrent, of course).....

And for your last question.....I would say uTorrent is much better than Azereus......

1.Yes, it slows your internet down a little bit, try using the encrypting option, it might help a little bit.

2.Duh! the torrent file is like a ticket, you put it in a client, and the client will get the files from the seeds/peers.

3.hmm, never used Azereus before, µtorrent is just fine for me.
