Question:
How do I permanently change the file properties on my word doc?

My word docs and all of my emails have a current client name listed under Title in File Properties. I have been sending communication with this client's name attached to everything. Other clients are seeing that name. Can you please help me permanently change that? Do I use a Macro? A Template? I can not for the life of me figure it out.
Thank you very much!!

For clarity, when I open a word document and go to File, then Properties. The Title says "Client:CompanyName". It attaches itself to every email and word doc and no matter how much I delete it, it always comes back!

I'm a bit surprised that this is showing up as Title, not as Company.

Here's how to change it in the Normal.Dot template:

1.Close all open copies of Word.

2.Open Word.

3.Click on the File->Save As menu item.

4.In the "File of Type" list box, scroll down to Document Templates and select it. The directory should change and there should be a Normal.dot file in it. DON’T SAVE THE FILE. Press Cancel instead.

5.Click on the File->Open menu item.

6.Select Normal.dot.

7.Normal.dot should become your open document.

8. Click the File->Properties menu item.

9. Clear out the Title field.

10. Click OK.

11.Save the file with File->Save. You may get a warning message about the Global template having been changed. This is OK. Click Yes.

12.Close Word.

Word sometimes leaves the last directory used incorrectly set, so be careful the next time you open or save (especially!) a file that Word's pointed at the right place.

That should do it.

Open up MS Word, and change the properties there, not on the document. If you have ownership of the document (right click, go to security, advanced, owner) there will be a custom tab on the properties to put you information in. If you do not have ownership, follow the same path and choose to replace existing owner.
