MS Powerpoint - Insert Table & Create Pie Chart?

Hi,
I am trying to depict a Table which comprises Label Names alongside Label Values, and have the % share for each of these to be depicted in a 3d Piechart. The Label names need to be color-coordinated with the piechart colors for easy identification [like legend styles].

Creating the piechart with % share is easy, but I am not able to show a TABLE with the Label Name and Label value IN powerpoint. The preset legends don't offer a tabular representation.

Ideally, I would prefer to have a Table in powerpoint showing the Label Name and Label Value and use the SAME table for the piechart. The piechart has to be the advanced 3D piechart that shows in excel, not the 2D default ones that come with powerpoint.

Is that possible? What is the procedure?
Thanks a ton.

If you've got powerpoint, then you should have excel since even the most basic version of Microsoft Office comes with both. Using charts in powerpoint is easier if the chart is created in Excel first.

But, on the off chance you really do have a stand alone version of Powerpoint, then Microsoft Graph opens by default. While the data source is different, the graphing steps are still pretty much the same between the two processes (Microsoft Graph vs Excel, that is).

here's a tutorial from Microsoft on graphing. Maybe it will help you.

I think the reason PowerPoint doesn't let you add a data table to a pie chart is because it's a pie chart!! There is NO complex data to see - it's all simply and clearly displayed in the chart itself.

But it's easy enough to make your own in PowerPoint. It sounds like you've already made the pie chart, so just go to the data sheet, select the label names and values, copy them, go back to your slide and paste. It will give you a table that you can format any way you want.

Is dependent upon which variant you've of powerpoint... For 2007: Go to the insert tab >Chart >Pie...Then choose the sort you wish to have. For older place of business: it is mainly the equal, use the insert menu>select chart then it is going to robotically insert a bar chart. You're going to need to go to the photograph on the chart choices bar and change the chart variety to a pie chart. Hope this helps!

You can make the chart in Excel and copy and paste it into PPT as a picture. Would that work for you?
