I am using ubuntu linux and xp on my windows 7 laptop through oracle virtual box. When I use them, it only shows half of the screen in middle on my 1366 x 768 widescreen laptop. I also couldnt find higher resolution (higher than 800 x 600) in ubuntu.

How can I use the virtual OS in full widescreen?
Please advice.

you need to install the guest additions in the guest,

you have to download the iso, add it to the virtual cd and double click autorun.sh this will install the correct guest additions

I've never used Oracle before... but there should an option for you to maximize the virtual client.

Check up in the taskbar somewhere.

to this element as i comprehend, it rather is impossible for an OS in Virtualbox to do any injury on your device. the academic looks stable. i opt to propose giving it a pair hundred GB's of area in a dynamic rigidity in spite of the actuality that. That way you will now no longer run out of area in Ubuntu or waste any the way a fastened disk does. i'm uncertain approximately shifting from the concentrated customer to host immediately, yet you need to burn disks and write to exterior drives from the digital OS.
