Computer experts can you please help me again?

Question

My Compaq Presario V4000 reads "Could not make HTTP connection" "Could not make FTP connection" Error 12007. "Computer has following defaul gateway entries 0.0.0.0." What does all this mean and how can I rectify the faults please? I am having to use my husband's computer as I just cannot get into mine though we share the same router (modem?) .
I am sorry I am always getting into a mess as I keep trying out various things on my computer. Maybe I should go to computer classes???

Try going into network connections, network properties, and making sure you're set to automatically attain your IP address and DNS server (google if you need it to be more specific than that).



Also, run command prompt (start -> run -> type in "cmd" and click ok), and type in ipconfig /renew, then press enter.

Youi can't keep trying things out . Things need doing in a specific way. Your computer may be infected. try doing a system restore. Start, programs, accessories, system tools.

Your default gateway is what is used to connect to a server or something so if that is set to 0.0.0.0

it will not connect i suggest you set up the default gateway manually and use some like:



158.62.1.XXX



XXX being any number upto 225. :3

You need to check the 'Properties' of your Internet Explorer Browser; check that everything is set up right.



Click on right of your mouse, when the curzor is placed on the Internet Explorer icon; then take it from there.

Try resetting modem and router(disconnect power for 15 sec. or press reset button) and problem computer.
