How do I reinstall windows on IBM 600E?

How do i get to BIOS? I tried to press del but it didn't work. i also tried f1 when thinkpad started, it didn't work aswell. how can i install windows? thankyou.

Which Windows?



Before Windows 2000 you needed to use a boot disk. Otherwise, installing the CD-ROM will bring up the menu to start the installation.



Have you tried to use System Restore or F8 for Safe Mode and choose Last Known Good Configuration? Do you regularly set a restore point?



Try F2 or F1 again and HOLD IT DOWN until you get BIOS. Be QUICK! My experience from using Aptivas was that the boot is fast unless you set it to check the memory thoroughly. Don't wait for Windows to begin, then you can't break out without a hard reset or on-off cycle and it will start Scandisk or go into Safe mode.



Also from the Aptiva my experience was the BIOS was usually Phoenix BIOS but Phoenix and AMI and AWARD all seem to have merged at some point and an AMIBIOS is always my favorite to work with. Not my choice of course...
