I need a basic C/C++ compiler for Win7.... for basic (btech 1st yr level) programming needs upto looping and Structures

u need to install dosbox emulator for windows 7, and then run turbo C

I'm not a Windows fan but Visual Studio Express is free and has, I believe, a 64 bit version.

From the FOSS perspective GCC itself is designed to run on ANY hardware. Of course if you download the GNU libraries you will get a free compiler, and they can be hand 64 bit.
