I recently got an Nvidia 7600GS for an old, low end Dual core system, and i was going to overclock the card using the nvidia control panel but the option to do so is not there ( i assume cos im using XP). What free software will let me overclock the 7600GS and show temperatures?

Rivaturner

EVGA Precision

MSI Afterburner

3 good programs to overclock your GPU

F.Y.I. I have a 7600 GS also and it overclocks from default 400 to 550 on both core and memory but that doesn't mean yours will overclock as good or maybe even clock higher

First of all if you are going to overclock a computer (especially if you have never done it before) there is a chance that it will fry the CPU or some other component, it could also catch on fire if you mess it up really bad and change the voltages.

So make sure that you know what you are doing and keep in mind that something could easily go wrong and you will lose your computer.

That being said Over-clocking is pretty fun and it may work out for you if you are careful.

Everyone i talk to has there own software that they claim is the best, i think it is more of a preference. I would Google Over-clocking software, find one you like, and then read the forums about it and see what people said about it. This is probably the best way to start out and learn what to do. Don't forget to download some monitoring software as well.

Remember go slowly, it is a long process and take patience. Do little increments at a time.

determine you're up as much as now on your drivers, those that come on the disk are crap. i could attempt doing it with the strategies the cardboard got here with. be careful however, overclocking is to not be taken gently and might particularly screw up your computing gadget. good luck! drew

I would suggest overclocking it by flashing the graphics card BIOS
