I did not have problem with my Microsoft Word until 2 days back when it suddenly crashes every time I tried to open it. Even when I tried to open only the program, it refused to show the blank document for me (only the head bar and a gray background appeared). However, I could still click 'open' from the head bar to display my word files. But the problem was that after my document appeared, I cant use my cursor to highlight and make changes. I just cant change anything unless I use the arrow keys to move the 'blinking stroke' (you know the thing that enables you to type, I don't know how to call it) and use shift+arrow key to highlight the part that I want to change. Hope I clearly say out my problem. Please Help!! Thanks!
(By the way, my Microsoft Office 2007 is a Genuine Copy and I tried reinstalling the product already but the problem still persists)

Could be a damaged Word data key in the Windows registry. Close Word 2007, start regedit, and rename the "\\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Office\12.0\Word\Data" key. Word 2007 will create a new Data key using the factory default settings when you restart the program. If this fixes the problem, great... but you might have to re-select some of your Word Options settings. If it doesn't, you can close Word 2007, go back into regedit, delete the newly created Word data key, and rename the old key back to its original name to retrieve your old Word Options settings.

Jennifer: If neither of these solutions work, please edit/add to your question your Windows version AND any error messages you may be receiving when Word crashes. In the meantime, print these directions and try each of these solutions ONE AT A TIME. Test and restart your computer at least twice before going to the next suggested solution.

Solution 1:

- Restart your computer normally.

- Click Start Button > Search > "normal.dotx" (no quotes)

- Re-name the file "normal.bad" (no quotes)

- Restart your computer.

- Open Word and try to use it.

If this works, you can stop here.

==================================

Solution 2:

- Restart your computer

- Click Start Button > Windows Update

- When it finishes searching DO NOT update ANYTHING.

- Click Update History

- Look for updates installed 24-48 hours before Word first crashed.

- Note the name/title AND KB number of each update.

- Close Windows Update

- Click Start Button > Control Panel > Add/Delete Programs

- Click Show Hidden (system) updates/hot fixes

- ONE AT A TIME, uninstall any update installed 24-48 hrs before 1st crash).

- After EACH uninstall, restart your computer and try using Word.

- If Word begins to function again, you'll know which update caused the problem.

- Go to microsoft.com and click Support.

- Use the KB###### as the search term. I'm sure you'll see a solution or Hot Fix.

Hope this helps!

I'd suggest completely uninstalling it (since u have the disc I'm assuming?) then rebooting your computer. Then run a scan for errors and/or a virus scan. After those are done, reboot again and then reinstall Office.

If your still having the same problem maybe you can do a system restore.

Your scanner provides a image of the text textile. to tutor this into text textile that observe can edit, you decide on an OCR (optical character attractiveness) software. One generally comes bundled with the scanner.
