Excel Scrolls all the way down to cell 65,636 when I have only 900 lines?

I would like to figure out how to scroll just to 900 lines, rather than it being a smaller scroller which moves all the way to the bottom. It is just difficult to navigate.
I tried deleting the rows, but it isn't working

First, select a cell in the column that has values down to row 900. It can be any cell in that column. Then use...
Ctrl+Down Arrow
This will scroll down to the last cell used in that column. Ctrl plus the other arrow keys work the same way.

For Excel 2003:
Hide all of the rows below 900.
Click on the row number 901.
Hold Shift then press End then press the down arrow.
Then Format > Row > Hide
