I was thinking about hosting my very own email (very own e-mail server) instead of using Gmail. However, then I realized I can never host my email on a server where I'm likewise hosting Wordpress. That is because I would always be afraid that somebody might have compromised my server; the same could possibly be said about every little thing else I have on that server, but e-mail is of certain significance provided that somebody could possibly reset the passwords for most of my on-line accounts utilizing my e-mail.
The solution would be to have the e-mail encrypted on my server using my public key, so that it would only be understandable using my very own exclusive secret. If this security occurs on the server, it's virtually simply as ineffective because somebody might jeopardize the server and get to the e-mails before they get encrypted.

The second solution that came to my mind was that the e-mail can be encrypted prior to it reaches the server. Having something similar to a DNS MX record containing my public key, which would make the transmitting server encrypt the messages using my very own public trick. So bottom line, exists a way to have the emails encrypted prior to they reach the server? If not, is there something like this in the works (since I 'd be interested to follow their progress)?

This could just be accomplished with an outside third party encryption.

That also means that both sending out side and receiving side needs to share decryption keys. Usually, this is accomplished with asynchronous tricks, implying there are two tricks: One for file encryption and one for decryption. There is definitely no way to encrypt with a vital implied for decryption or decrypt with an essential indicated for security.

Additionally, there is definitely no way to obtain one key from an additional in any means.

If you utilize options like PGP Free, or you get a cost-free SMIME certificate and encrypt your mail that method, it will do it, but it can only be done when both parties have the trick, it's not automatic.

Another solution with the server that we offer called "Best SMTP server," where ALL messages in the queue are always encrypted.

If you connect to our server using SSL, then there is no moment in time when messages are not encrypted in the queue. They are encrypted in transportation and likewise, encrypted in the queue.

I think it's an interesting problem to solve. How about trying to use virtualization to run Wordpress on one VM and your mail server on another one?

Or possibly set up a DMZ containing the wordpress server and have 2 routers behind the main one- one containing your mail server and the other one containing the rest of your network?

The email encryption thing is GPG, and I think the messages stored on the server are encrypted- I think the encryption happens at the client.

Yes of course ! Some plugin like Jumble.io does the encryption right into your browser before the mail is sent or stored online. Try it out at www.jumble.io
