I want to upgrade Windows XP (32-bit) to Windows 7 (64-bit). Is this possible? If so how do I do it?

The Intel Core 2 Duo is already 64 bit capable. The issue is that "upgrade" can mean two different things.

What you cannot do: You cannot gracefully install Windows 7, and have it keep all your files and settings. You can only upgrade--in this sense of the word--to Vista, and I believe only to the version of Vista that matches the same number of bits.

What you can do: Back up your files. While installing Windows 7, follow the directions to fully erase everything on your hard drive before continuing with the install process. Then restore your files after Windows 7 is installed.

I didn't bother to look up specs for your motherboard, but you can only do 64 bit inf your motherboard supports it. Judging by the rest of your system, i would safely assume you could. All you have to do is buy a windows 7 installation package from microsoft, or go to a tech store (best buy, fry's, office depot, etc.) and they can do that for you for a price.

I dont know if you can but i think that you can and you go to a store like future shop or something and READ the instructions
