So I make music videos for my youtube but the only editor I have is Windows Live Movie Maker which comes free with my laptop. I don't have a Mac so I can't use iMovie but I really want to create better music videos with more effects etc... Please could you give me some recommended softwares I could use that either are free or cost very little!! I've downloaded Sony Vegas Pro 11 but only the free trial cuz it costs LOADS!!! Please help! (If it's free, that's good! LOL!) Oh and I live in the UK if that makes a difference..!

Hi,

Keep in mind that all free video editors have many limitations.

I highly recommend these video suites - inexpensive, powerful and easy to use:

Audio Video Suite: http://avs-video-suite.org (includes Video/Audio/Photo editors, converters and much more, 18 tools suite)

Movavi Video Suite: http://movavi.org (Video Editor, Screen Recording, Video Converter, Slideshow Creator and a whole lot more. You can purchase each program separately, at a lower price)

Support for all major video formats, many filters, transitions and special effects

You can try them for free and choose the best for you.

Best of luck!

Unfortunately, unless you're willing to pay a lot, you're not going to find anything great. Vegas would be my first choice, but yeah, it's pricy. Movie maker, etc are free, but they are for crap.

Just start saving I guess...

Vegas, Adobe Premiere, and Final Cut are the three best video editing softwares out there. The nice thing about Vegas is that it has a very powerful Audio engine as well. Lots of awesome plugins and effects on Veags that you can't find on any other VIDEO editing software. So, for music videos, I would suggest Vegas.

Final Cut 10 is great for youtube as well and is easy to use, but it is also expensive.

Sorry man, you don't really have a lot of choices.... (short of illegally downloading software...)

Creativity isn't limited to the tools you have. I use Adobe After Effects for some hardcore video effects where appropriate. I don't encourage you to pirate software, however I'm just using this space to say that whatever software you get your hands on keep in mind that music videos aren't all about video effects.

Dear Vicky , I think Nuke is best software formaking music video & Visual effects . There are various platforms by which visual effects are being carried out. In the leading industry, Nuke is taking control over major Hollywood movies.

Nuke is emerging as the compositing software of choice for VFX facilities that want to move up to the next level in their compositing departments for both visual quality and production efficiency. Its unique management of floating point color space coupled with its novel multi-channel architecture and superb 3D support make it the most effective compositing tool for any CGI production pipeline. Nuke makes work-flow much easier like working on Multi-Pass EXR files, True 3D environment, unmatched visual quality, Stereoscopic workflow and many more.
