In Outlook, when you send new mail, instead of clicking on "TO" i just enter the first letter of the name i want to send mail to into the address bar and it lists all addresses starting with that letter that i have ever sent to, example: i enter "J" it will list Jones, James, Johnson, etc along with their email address, these are all people i sent mail to at one time or another. These aren't my "contacts" which i can export, but every address have evern sent mail to. does anyone know how i can copy this listing of names and addresses and just dump it all onto a new PC with Outlook?

thanks

The From filed in simple terms possibilities up the person call from the sending e mail handle. no longer out of your Outlook. If the sender does not placed their call on the outgoing emails you will no longer see it.

First, you need to export your contacts to a Personal Folders file (.pst) (Personal Folders file (.pst) by using the Import and Export Wizard in Outlook.

On the File menu, click Import and Export.

Click Export to a file, and then click Next.

In the list, click Personal Folder File (.pst), and then click Next.

Click the Contacts folder. If the folder contains a subfolder that you want to include, select the Include subfolders check box, and then click Next.

Under Save exported file as, click Browse, and then specify a location, such as My Documents, and a name, such as Contacts Backup, for your backup file.

Next, copy the pst to a cd, or flash drive and import the contents to the new copy of outlook by doing the following

1. On the File menu, click Import and Export.

2. Click Import from another program or file, and then click Next.

3. Click Personal Folder File (.pst), and then click Next.

4. In the File to import box, specify the path and file name of the .pst file you want to import.

5. Click one of the following:

Replace duplicates with items imported Existing data will be overwritten with the information in the file that is being imported.

Allow duplicates to be created Existing data will not be overwritten, and duplicate information will be added to the current Outlook folder.

Do not import duplicate items Existing data will be kept, and the duplicate information in the file will not be copied to the current Outlook folder.

6. Follow the remaining instructions in the Import and Export Wizard.

You can 't just copy addresses that way.

Either you save addresses to pesonal address book.

Export you outlook mail box to a pst file.

This way you will have all received / sent emails with respective addresses, this will help you later to check email addresses.
