I have an old pentium III laptop lying around (700mhz with 512mb of ram) and since i am on vacation, i have been playing around with various linux distributions on it. I have found that most of the full operating systems, like linux mint and lubuntu are too slow. However, some of the cloud based ones seem to be good enough. I have tried a few

Chromium OS=Doesn't work on this laptop
Joli OS=Works but not very well
Peppermint Linux=Too slow
xPud=Seemed ok
Browserlinux with Chrome=Works very well

Browserlinux seems to be the best choice so far, however, since i have more free time and a large stack of blank CD's that are never going to get used otherwise, i am wondering, are there any other cloud based linux distros i should look into?

The instructions listed decrease than are superb. you be attentive to which you have succeeded burning the ISO on the disk, as quickly as you notice incredibly records and folders on the burned disk rather of the unmarried great .iso image rfile. After this, you would be able to desire to swap your boot order on your laptop BIOS, so the laptop does not start to load an working kit from the difficultcontinual, yet searches your CD/DVDcontinual first rather. so so which you will place your CD/DVDcontinual first interior the boot order interior the previous your difficultcontinual. After this, put in your in basic terms burned stay-CD/DVD and the laptop would desire to now boot from the CD/DVD. save on with the instructions and you would be able to desire to have your Linux kit put in rather without postpone. I in basic terms have journey with Ubuntu. installation it replace into user-friendly. It have been given right here upon my hardware and configured it properly (I surely have an HP Pavilion laptop). It asks you subject concerns like your first call and surname, your section (to set the time zone), in case you commit to be conscious the comprehensive difficultcontinual for Linux (I chosen this, through fact it replace into the biggest least complicated way) or in case you wold opt to maintain residing homestead homestead windows and make a separate partition for Linux (i've got not got journey doing this). finally it asks you your well-liked username (I gave my first call in shrink-case letters) and your well-liked password (which you employ in Ubuntu to do administrative tasks, like installation/removing instructions etc - you would be brought about on your password at the same time as doing probable "volatile" stuff like this, so so which you will rather bear in concepts your password!). every time you boot up your laptop, you would be asked your username and your password. you would be able to disable this instant from kit -> maintenance -> Login (or GDM) teach exhibit -> "secure practices" tab -> Use computerized Log-In... the subsequent time you would be taken quickly into your very own laptop. i take benefit of a Finnish version, so i do now no longer probably bear in concepts the comprehensive direction in English :-)
