How do I turn off a program that starts automatically?

I just purchased a HP Pavilion dv6 with Windows 7 and the directories are different than Vista. There is a HP Advisor Dock that appears whenever I start up. I don't care for it, so I'd like to shut off the automatic start up, but I can't find it.

Click the start button and type msconfig in the search box at the bottom of the start menu,
Hit enter and the msconfig app appears.
Go to the Startup tab and remove anything you want to prevent autostarting.
You'll recognize some of the names in there - any that you don't you can google.
If you later find that you disabled something you need just go back and put the check mark back again for that app,

you could go throught the start menu or you could just get advanced system care v3 . it s free its an all in one cleaner and optimiser it has tons of easy to use tools . that wont harm your pc at ,all but will. masivley speed it up . once you,ve installed it . go to the utilities button below the care . button . choose the the admin tools button the 3rd tab on the tob right . choose startup manager untick the boxes / programs you dont want to run on startup then press apply ignore any messages that might popup then press ok . it might seem a lot but if you use the other options available on the main screen . it really will remove a lot of errors on your system and speed it up . regards rob
