Question:
Final Cut Pro lag HD?

Hello, I recently purchased a Canon T2i. I have been using Final Cut Pro to edit videos for awhile and have never had an issue until I started importing the new HD (1080p) footage. Video within the "Viewer" now lags to a point that the footage is not viewable. I'm wondering if the lag is due to the graphics card not being able to process the footage properly or if it is the settings within FCP that are not set correctly [such as the video's codec]. I have currently a 9800GTX gpu installed, but purchased a 480GTX. Will this upgrade solve the issue.

My current PC set up has:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q92550 @ 2.83GHz
8 GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM
Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX

It is likely that it is not your computer speed causing problems but your Hard Drive.

One of the most important things with video editing is having a separate, dedicated hard drive to store the video files on. I use Firewire HD minimum 7200rpm and I have a RAID to get even better speeds. Let the system and application use the internal hard drive and video files use a dedicated media drive.

How a lot Ram does your computing gadget have, and which computing gadget do you've. more suitable commonly then not this is a symptom of not sufficient RAM. The decision is large large and could sluggish issues down a ton with images if we are speaking videos and this extreme of decision your computing gadget needs a minimum of four gig of Ram 6 can be a lot more suitable effective.
