Question:
Why doesn't Office 365 have the latest office versions on it for MAC? It's only Office 2011, not 2013?

I have to practice with office 2013 for my BCIS class and i figured i could use office 365 on my MAC and have it be the same thing as on a pc but it's not. 365 is compatible with MAC but as a 2011 version i guess. Is that the latest version for MAC? I'm supposing if i put 365 on my mom's pc it will be the same thing as the regular Office 2013.

How similar is 2010 office to 2013? What about 2007?

Also, does windows vista or 7 come with microsoft office already or do you have to buy it separately?

If by BCIS you mean any of the meanings listed here, then Office 2011 for Mac will suit you just fine.

Office 365 is for both Macs and PCs. The current version of Office for Mac is 2011. The current version for the PC is 2013. Word, Excel and PowerPoint file formats are identical regardless of which of these two versions you use. The feature sets are not exactly the same, but for anything you will be doing the two versions are equivalent.

When the next version of Office for Mac comes out it will be ahead of the Windows version. Microsoft alternates the two suites and introduces new features - sometimes on one platform and sometimes on the other. Very few courses are up to date enough to take advantage of any feature newer than 5 years old.

Most colleges and universities offer Microsoft Office to students for free or a price that is merely a token. The first thing to do is to check with the librarian at your college and ask whether or not your school makes this offer. If it does, that’s your best bet.

If your college doesn’t make this offer, then you can still get office at a steeply discounted rate here:

Microsoft does not release both Mac and Windows versions of Office simultaneously. The latest Office for Mac is 2011. The latest version for Windows is n2013. We can expect Mac version 2014 soon? Maybe a few years later, Windows version 2017? It's like two kids on opposite sides of a carousel –– Jane comes past, and then Bob, followed later by Jane again. Who is ahead and who is behind? Do you mean the Windows DVD? No version of Windows has ever included Office, so "Separately" is the answer. As for various PCs having Office included, that may be just a grey-area piracy of the shop, installing Office on their stock PCs before sale to boost the value. They do not include any Office DVD, since they are using one DVD for 100 PCs. It is technically illegal, but does Microsoft spend a lot of time prosecuting them?

OTHER ANSWER :

As for tablets, a tablet is not Windows. The obvious meaning is does Microsoft bundle Office with their Windows DVDs: NO.

The 8" Windows 8 tablets I believe all contain Office pre-installed.

The Windows RT devices CERTAINLY contain Office.
