i do not know why are u getting this massage.but i hope it should be works.follow these steps - go to control panel - Click on performance and maintenance - after this click on system restore - then choose restore my computer to an earlier time - ( now decide when was the problem occurred first time, choose a date few days earlier from that time ) -click on next - this process does not cause u to lose resent work, such as saved documents or e-mails and is completely reversible. but in this process u will lose softwares which are installed after that date(restore point date)

I think your copy of Windows must be pirated and hence your Microsoft XP version did not pass the genuine test.

There also some problem with genuine CD.

Try inserting a Windows XP CD (even if Pirated its OK) Then restart your PC.

Keep on pressing F8 till your PC accepts it for booting.

Then install the XP version and start the PC

First thing you do is turn off automatic updates from the control panel.

Also in future don't allow your XP version to get tested for Microsoft genuine.

Dinesh there is right.

However you can instead of reinstalling try and remove the Knowledge base(KBXXXXXXX) article that gets installed for Windows Genuine Advantage update from Programs and Features and Delete it from Registry and Restart your system.

If the Above does not work then go for a reinstall.
