I have installed RHEL 4 i386 on vmware and am planning to install oracle 11g for my course practicals... But just came to know that oracle 11g needs more advanced version of linux. Therefore, kindly suggest me which version of RHEL will be best suitable to go with oracle 11g release 2?

Hi,

Oracle 11g Rel.1 is best for RHEL 4.5 and RHEL 5. and Oracle 11g Rel.2 is best for RHEL 5.4 and later version. These versions are certified by Oracle. Means you can get support for above RHEL versions and get resolution for every problem from Oracle Support.

Any RHEL 5.X should work. If you have regular (minimal) support, any 5 version will update to the current 5 version which will run Oracle 11g just fine.

I agree approximately united states, yet I continuously examine any Karaoke place to work out in the event that they have a basket of mushy maters on the door, cuz if I sing, i can hearken to Cats howlin on fences 2 blocks away.
