Call comcast tech support and tell them that you had to reinstall you OS and lost Mcafee. They will be able to tell you had to reinstall it. If comcast included Mcafee with your subscription they will be more than happy to show you how to get it back on your system. If this is not possible you can't get the full version of Mcafee again unless you have paid for it. If you did you should have a product key and if you reinstall Mcafee from their website you should have no problems getting it back. I am not sure exactly what question was but this is what I would suggest you try.
Good-luck.

both are terrible programs imo, huge resource hogs and can mess with crap you dont want to... I use Avast home (free) for antivirus and comodo for firewall. Been using them both for a few years and have never had a problem or virus while using them. Comodo could be a little confusing at first for novice computer users not sure where you fit in, since its a complete system firewall not just for internet ... give them a try... they consume a considerable amount less ram and cpu resorses then both of the other 2. as for getting aback mcafee your screwed if comcast changed which service they provide.

since it's run through comcast, can you access the comcast help desk? I'm wondering if the McAfee set up is different than just the way one would set it up from the store bought product?

You can try contacting them to see if they'll give it to you, but I think you're out of luck. It's Norton's, or buy the McAfee.
