what do i do with ubuntu now that i got it? do i extract it and put it on a cd? when i extract it i get these folders, icons, etc.

do i put all of them on a cd?

When downloading the .iso file, you dont need to decompress it (for instance, with RAR), all you need to do is burn that iso (disk image) onto a CD.

Burn the image to a CD and place it in your HDD. It will walk you through the installation process from there.



However, be careful as it will delete all data on your HDD for the install.

LOL, Okay from what my understanding is you put the files on a disc then you boot off the disc and follow the steps.
