If you have a windows Xp running machine, just log on to Microsoft site and download media player 11. Or I'll recommend you to go for VLC player. It can even play your incomplete video files in most of the formats. Its a good freeware. But i think it doesn't support Quicktime movies. Just Go for it...

What kind of software are you looking for? You could go to www.download.com and change the license filter to "free" and just browse through them.

download.cnet.com has a lot of freeware. It all depends on what you need. After all, it would be incredibly moronic to just download software for the hell of it.



However here are some of my favorites:
