We have no way of knowing which services you use or don't use, or need or don't need. For instance, if you share your internet connection, you need SharedAccess; if you don't, you don't. Your antivirus software has probably disabled Windows Defender---are you saying that all these services are all running in task manager? That's a lot of services to be running. You need to familiarize yourself with them and find out what they are and what they do--this may mean Googling them. Some of them are peculiar to your operating system and to the software you are running on your computer--e.g. I recognize Light Scribe because I have it on my laptop. Go to your Search box and type Services in your search box. This will bring up the Services dialog box. (You can view them here, but to make any changes, you'll have to be logged in as an administrator.)

I have included links to Black Viper's website. He has suggestions for tweaking services in Windows 7 (first link) and Windows 8 (second link). His site shows whether the service should be set to manual or automatic. To make these changes, log on to Services under the Administrator account. Highlight the service that you wish to change, then click on Properties. Select the Startup Type--e.g. from Automatic to Manual. Hit Apply, then OK. Services can be started or stopped from this same screen. I have all the services associated with Remote Desktop/Remote Registry disabled, as well as some networking functions I know I won't be using.

You can also see what's running on your system by using the tasklist command. Go to your search box and type Run in the box. This will bring up the command prompt. Type tasklist and it will return a list of all tasks running on your system.

Check out a microsoft soft program thats called autoruns, its an .exe file program, assuming your on PC. Check out some videos on youtube to see how it works.

Iv always been concerned about all programs running in the background on my PC. Iv went from 85 background programs to about 62. Since iv downloaded autruns im down to 51 background programs, and feel my PC running smoother.

Mainly what what I understanding from it, it scans every program thats running and highlights programs in certain colors according to how important or safe it is to disable it.

And if your not sure what the program is or dont know if you should disable it, there is a right click feature where you can search the file. its a nice little program.

Give it try you wont be disapointed.

PS. I dont wont to tell you what to disable myself cause I dont no what operating system you have or what programs you have.

Edite: You can get it from any site yo search for it from google, but the best/reliable site is right from microsoft, here it is....

If your familiar with WinRar, that great, I forgot if its a RAR file or not.

Just disable programs under the "Startup"

That'll eliminate half the processes right there and then you won't have to worry about disabling important ones.
