Ok, so I found my old Rise Of Nations CD and it was severely scratched so I used this software to slowly read the disk and recover the lost files and copy it to a DVD... I left it over night and now I run the DVD and get the "This application has failed to start because .dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." error. So I open the DVD and run the RONSETUP.EXE and get the exact same error. So, I figure that if I run the NATIONS.EXE it should open the autoplay, I get the erroe "Please insert correct CD-ROM, Select OK and restart application" HELP ME!

It was most likely copy protected using weak sector technology. Disk burners that the public have access to are not able to create a weak sector. And setup will fail if it can not find that weak sector. Keep your CD key and take a chance on buying a used one on ebay.

Get some toothpaste and a soft cloth and a good movie. Rub out the scratchss in the CD/DVD while you watch the movie. Don't pouch hard and rub is small circles.

likely it was a specially formatted or "copy-protected" DVD game disc. also, those disc file recovery programs don't always get ALL the data, just whatever they can. some damaged files will SEEM like they copied OK, but the file size will be different...

.dll are files that the application install in windows system folder...

may b that setup u have is not able to install that .dll file or perhaps its missing in your DVD.

if that CD that u have is original & u have CD key for it try downloading the setup from torrentz.com
