Question:
IE8 Shortcut Maximized?

I have Vista Home (came with the computer).
I just installed ie8, now my shortcuts (Facebook, MSN, etc.) will not open maximized. Normal ie shortcut opens maximized (as I have the setting setup to do so). I do NOT want to click and drag to “trick” my screen into full size; I want it to do it to its full capacity – every time.
When I click on another shortcut, it opens in a new window. I want them to open maximized in the same window. (Yes, I have changed the settings within my internet options). When I click on a link within a webpage (and I hold down the clrl key) it will open in a new tab (as it should).
I have gone into the registry in two locations:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main; delete the key: Window_Placement
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Document Window\Maximized\yes
In addition, I close my ie via the File-Close options.
I do NOT want to install some shareware/freeware to get it fixed.
PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND WITH ANSWERS IN WHICH I HAVE ALREADY DONE!
As well, please don’t recommend I use Mozilla, Firefox, opera,…I like ie, that’s why I am asking how to fix it!
Thank you so very much!

1. Click the shortcut, wait for it to open.

2. Maximize the program

3. Exit the program

4. Click the shortcut again, see if that works.

Option 2:

Install Firefox. It's safer, slightly faster and has the same features. In fact IE lags behind often. Also, if you have free time you can ad add-ons of all kind to customize it in anyway. Right now I have 2 ad-blockers, TACO (An auto-opt out from when advertisers track you on the web, fusion (A useless thing that I like, Personas (Something to change the way your browser looks-from thousands of pre-made things by other users), Error-Zilla Plus (You know when google takes you to a non-existent page? Click Google Cache, and your there! Otherwise there are some other options like Wayback!) And it goes further. So yes, Firefox is the best.

u can add it to click launch by right-clicking there (not on an icon) and then click open folder. Paste the firefox shortcut from the start menu. Done :D

I use Safari, I do recommend it but I'm still a PC user.

Try to completely uninstall internet explorer from your computer and then install it again.

WARNING!

GET A DIFFERENT BROWSER BEFORE UNINSTALLING IE8!
