Question:
How to take a Screenshot in-game? (Windows 8)?
?

This is what happens everytime i try to take a screenshot whilst playing a game, it just won't work. The photo just ends up all white. Please do not say "Well just type screenshot in the console commands" as not all games have that, such as The Walking Dead (Telltale).

Also, if you wonder why there's a smaller Task Manager screen, it's because i'm using two monitors, one the laptop screen, and one 1920x1080 monitor :P.

So, what can i do to fix this? Is there maybe a program out there for this?

Sometimes when games go full-screen, the 'PrtScn' button doesn't work to capture the image to the clip board.

I work around this often by setting the game to run in 'windowed mode', and sometimes if the option is there, in a borderless window.

In windowed mode, the PrtScn button works, and you can press Alt-PrtScn to capture the active window, or PrtScn alone to capture the entire desktop. Open up Paint and hit Ctrl-V to paste the contents of the clipboard into the work area.

Crop as needed, and save your screen shot.

I'm just going to answer which examples you explicitly mentioned. First and foremost, the Microsoft Marketplace is an integrated shop within the OS. Think of it as Window's version of iTunes or Android's Google Play - developers can make applications, and you can buy them, with Windows getting a cut from all profits. As for the appearence, if you want to retain what you currently have, its perfectly possible with some mods (search "How to remove metro screen mod"). Those squares are what are refered to as tiles, and are part of the metro layout, again, its entirely possible to remove it and keep your start menu (which is what its replacing). Lastly, Windows 8 (with mods) is just as customisable as Windows 7, though its not quite as accesible as windows 7 has been. There are some pros to the new OS though, namely: It's a lot faster from boot-up (check the source, some builds are up to 50% faster), it's supposedly more secure (yet to ascertain this), It's more efficient and shouldn't eat into as much of the computers resources, If you plan to use a touch screen (laptop/monitor) it'll be a much better experience than in windows 7, File transfers are faster

You are all talking around circles & nothing works except this:

You can press Windows Key + PrintScreen (THIS ONE DOES NOT WORK WITH ME)or Windows Key + Fn + PrintScreen key simultaneously (BUT THIS ONE WORKS FOR ME). The screen will be dim while screenshot is being captured. These screenshots are stored in Screenshots folder under Pictures library. (This is automatically put into that folder)

So there it is, problem solved if you want to screenshot yourself (that might be impossible on yourself only apps apply (:>)

Simplest way:-

Press PrntScrn on your keyboard at the time you want to take screenshot. Then press Ctrl+C. Then minimise the game and open paint. Now press Ctrl+V and the screenshot will be on the workspace. Now do what you want to.

Note:- This may not work sometimes.
