Wouldn't they contain spy ware etc
I know macs aren't prone to virus but still the thinking of downloading free anti virus ware is vague in the sense of free hence its corrupt
Am being overprotective ??
Could anyone recommend a safe/honest software for me
Or does a such thing it exist ???

unless you are doing bad things, immoral things illegal thing, or downloading a whole lot of files (which i dont know why you would unless you are using a file sharing program), then you are being over protective. Also let me say if you are going to get a antivirus for your mac, dont be cheapo buy it. because let me tell you why. All mac software is made by apple accept a few things. And we have all seen that rarely does apple give anything free. well this shows you that if it does not come with a price tag or you cant find any good reviews from places like macworld or macrumors, then dont download it.
