what to do is go on to the mac and choose save as, when saving change the type to a type suitable for XP. like .txt or .doc etc. save it then transfer and away you go

Are you saying you don't have Word on your PC?

If so, download OpenOffice. This is compatible. Then you can use email or a memory stick to copy the .doc to your PC and open it with OpenOffice.

TaDahh! Press print.

I hope this is what you wanted to know. =]

on your mac, email the word document to yourself as an attachment. open up your email on your pc. download the word document. open it.
