Every doc I try to open opens in microsoft picture manager..which means it doesn't open at all. The only way I can open an attachment is to save it and then right click to "open with" microsoft word. I don't know when it changed to doing this but I want it changed back.

If you right click on a word file at the bottom there should be the option to Choose default program. Click on it, choose Word and make sure the "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" is ticked.

If that diesn't work right-click on the file and choose Properties. On the General tab is a button that allows you to change what program to open a file with. Click it, pick Word press OK then click Apply and then Ok

Good luck

attempt this: In residing house windows XP: a million. In residing house windows Explorer, stumble on a .checklist document. (.docx document for be conscious 2007 or 2010) 2. top-click on it and decide Open With. 3. If MS be conscious shows up, elect it. 4. If it would not, click the Browse button. Navigate to the listing C:application FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice10 (Office10 for be conscious 2002 (XP), Office11 for be conscious 2003, Office12 for be conscious 2007, Office14 for be conscious 2010). In the two case, verify the checkbox continuously use the chosen application to open this form of document. 7. click ok. In residing house windows Vista and specific W7: a million. This answer is divided into two parts:

Part 1: The reason you are having this issue is because of a setting in your file-extension-application association application.

Part 2:

The process of fixing this issue is dependent on your operating system, but you did not tell us the operating system you are using, so we cannot help. Please email me, telling me what operating system you have, and then I should be able to help. Thanks.
