Export a Word document from Pages. Open your Pages document, then go to File > Export. Click "Word", then do the rest.

.docx is the file system used by Word 2007 and later. But Word should open .doc files as well. Mine does because I have an old version of Word at work, but I can open those .doc files on my home computer with Word 2007.

Have him/her save in .doc format. I am almost positive that iWork can do so.

Or better yet, both of you install Open Office (it works on both Windows and OSX) and save the documents in OTF so there are no further issues. (It also opens and can save in all Office formats)

The program is free and better than Office and iWorks anyways.

open up the document then click file>save as

select "all files" as your save type

type in the document name then add .docx for the extension
