Microsoft Word is part of Microsoft Office. a productivity suite that also contains Excel and Powerpoint for spreadsheets and presentations respectively.

you can buy the installation discs at any electronics store. you can also pay to download it online most likely at microsoft.com/office or something similar.

the lastest version is Office 2007 but some people prefer to stick with the older Office 2003. either version can be purchased or downloaded fairly easily.

however, i recommend trying OpenOffice.org first. it is opensource, completely free, and will work with Microsoft file types just fine. the word processor, OpenOffice Writer is very similar to Word. download it at openoffice.org and see if you like it. the upcoming version 3 will even edit PDFs

hope this helps

Word Processor has less features, go to the microsoft website to check if you can buy office word seperately but it would be better to get a package where you get the other office programs as well
