Please can someone help me with the resetting MS word back to default settings?

Question

I'm in the middle of an assignment and too many this are going wrong on my doc. Can you please help me to reset my MS word back to original settings (I think it maybe called default settings) I just want it back it how things were. I haven't got the time to write down whats happening.... I'm not computer savy so please be as simple as you can with your instructions!! I'm so FRUSTRATED right now!!!

it's been around for ever....



there are default settings all over in word, starting w/ the default layout in page settings to default document template...

re-installing wont work because changes to user files don't get over written in an uninstall/re-install, they remain unchanged.

the settings are all based in a template called normal .dot if you can find the original or take a copy off the CD it will return everything to default if you copy it over the existing one, I always rename a copy of normal .dot to Mormal.dot in case anything goes wrong , i can then just rename it and substitute it to get back to standard

You can try to reset the global template or just reinstall Word.

If you delete the global template then reboot it loads a new default one.
