I have a MS Visual Studio 2010 and MS SQL Server 2008 on my Windows 8.1. and they are working well. So I think you wont have a problem

Yes it does, Windows 8 supports all visual studio and SQL server versions that XP, Vista, and Win 7 supported.

yes Microsoft visual studio works in win 8.. but no idea of sql sever 2008.
