Every once in a while, my taskbar on my Windows 7 laptop just stops working, I double click it, restart it and all is well again, but it is just becoming a big inconvenience, Can anyone help or knows of a number I can call or site I can visit. I also hear a "clean boot" may help, but I'm not sure what it is or how to do one.

Start, Run, Msconfig, tick Diagnostic Startup, and restart the system. If that helps, your trouble is in Msconfig's Startup tab.

If it's a new computer, and you are already having trouble, I strongly suggest restoring (system restore) to an earlier point in time. It's possible with all the excitation, you've installed something that was not compatible with Windows 7. It's also possible if you've downloaded pirated music or software/games. Don't wait for the problem, restore now as the more you wait, the less tempting it is! Don't forget that Win7 has error reporting, performance monitor and graphs that explain, in time, when you installed what, when the system crashed and for what reason, it can be helpful to determine the problem. Good luck! (it's the only tip I can give with that info sorry, I'd like to tell you what to search for but this is a common problem when installing stuff on a new computer with 7 (is it 64/32 bits?))
