well! i plan on cleaning out my computer, meaning restarting everything, cleaning it all out! so that would mean i have to re download itunes aswell, I'v done this before, but i lost alllll of my songs, and the stuff i purchased! I'v heard of a site that can synce the songs FROM my ipod TO the computer so i can put it back on itunes, but will my purchased stuff go on it aswell? I have over 1,400 songs, and have spent over 50$ on purchases of videos and stuff like that, will it go onto my new itunes once i re download it along with my other songs? I'v tried something like this before, and i got so mad because all my purchased stuff said that it wouldent be able to go on my new itunes, please somebody help me with this, i would love to keep all my songs plus purchased items!

In Itunes, go into preferences and click "allow itunes to manage my music" and then allow itunes to consolidate all your files properly.

Make sure you have the latest version of itunes before doing this.

right click one of your songs and click get information. Note the "path" to the song.

locate the main folder (usually my music) in which your itunes folder is located. Copy then entire itunes folder onto an external media (external hard drive, thumb drive etc). Note: be sure to use a media device that has enough storage for the entire directory/folder.

Once it is copied and safe, go ahead and reformat your computer and get it all set up with itunes. Before starting itunes the first time on the newly refreshed computer, copy the itunes folder from your external drive and over write the itunes folder that is created when you load the program.

Start itunes. If it doesn't automatically import all of your media, go to file/import and import the entire folder you just copied over. All your music should be there.

Yes, unless you back them up (as itunes tells you to do so) you will lose your songs. Here are the way to backup
