Every time I open up Internet Explorer 7, I get a "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" message. It does this with any webpage I try to open, not just certain ones. I know that my internet works perfectly fine, because I can open any page in Firefox, and I've tried following every tip on Microsoft's support site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956196. I've been told that the reason I am experiencing this problem is because I might possible have had IE hijacked or spyware has infected it, but I have anti-spyware and anti-virus tools running all the time.... Please help me, I have had this problem for a little over 4 months and I still haven't found a solution.

Do a full spyware scan using your antispyware.

Then open IE, go to its options, Connections tab > LAN Settings > tick "Automatically detect settings", and untick everything else in there. OK everyting, restart IE and try again.

If it still doesn't work, download IE8 - the new IE - and see if that will help.

You could try the new IE8, but it isn't much better then IE7. Your best solution would be either Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. Both are safer and faster the anything Microsoft has ever offered.

The easiest thing to do, is to use Firefox, or Google Chrome. They're safer than IE and faster to run.

However if your desperate to use IE, try reverting back to IE6 and see if anything changes.
