I use an older Zorin Linux permanently, even though I have tried many (250) different ones. When it comes to Gnome 3 and KDE, I won't use those distributions. Gnome 3 I will make an exception if the Desktop looks like Gnome 2. There are no exceptions for KDE unless it is the Version 3 and not version 4. That just my own preference. I don't hardly ever use my Windows in the dual boot computers I have. I don't have a need to. I don't see enough difference in Linux to make it really matter which one I use because the underlying operating system files are not that much different from each other. I'm not impressed by Bells, Whistles, Graphics or Eye Candy and I don't have to impress any one.

Open source potential that the source code of the working utility is attainable to anybody who has the will and the talents to make adjustments to it. unlike domicile windows the place they keep the code hidden from anybody. Linux in all of its many flavors is the main straightforward occasion. The income that this gives you, is that if somebody has a gadget that would not artwork spectacular below Linux, they might (in the event that they have the talents) make adjustments to Linux to repair the subject. This restore alongside with different people who've made the comparable restore can then be evaluated via the individuals overseeing that distinctive flavor of Linux (or the Linux Kernel - the middle of the Linux OS) and the suited restore can then be integrated into patches or into the subsequent variations. protection holes may well be patched in addition. in short this gives you the skill to have a topic solved and the answer to the final public lots quicker than with a closed source OS the place patches are released while they get around to fixing them and get around to creating an respected patch. this might take weeks or months. With open source, this is days or in a minimum of one occasion i be attentive to of, hours.

Slackware. I've used Debian and Suse, but prefer Slackware. I avoid Ubuntu and all the *buntus as well as anything else derived from Debian. I would use Debian, but not something derived from Debian. And Hannah Montana is awesome :D
