.chm files are (Compiled HTML) Help files, the ones that open up when you press f1.

and ipseconw.chm is for Service Pack 2 for XP, you can ignore and install. i don't think it will affect the functioning of XP.

I've seen this problem before. If the file is on the disk and not corrupt, you have a problem with the memory in your computer. If you have 2 sticks of memory try installing XP with just one. If that doesn't solve the problem, switch the sticks around and use just the second stick instead and try to install XP again. That should allow you to install XP, but you need to fix your memory problem.

Seems to me that your windows xp disc is badly scratched or dirty. You can try skipping that file since it isn't important (it's a windows help file) but I am sure this will happen for other files.

Try cleaning your XP cd with a soft fabric and non abrasive fluid. (Warm water to be safe). When cleaning it whipe from the middle to the outside (not in a circle motion). After making sure its completely dry, put it back in and try again. Also inspect to see if it has any large scratches that could be causing this as you might need to replace it or borrow a friends xp cd but make sure to use YOUR cdkey that came with it

You can skip the file, but it sounds like your disc is damaged. If it asks you to skip too many files, or important files (ones that end in .dll, .exe, or .inf; .chm files are just help files), then you should give up and find a replacement CD.
