I tried Mozilla Firefox and I had trouble with running script errors constantly. It worked fine with SP2 but not with SP3. I have heard about Opera 10, Safari 4 and Google Chrome but I read that GC uses 5gb of RAM, Safari 4's requirements only go up to SP2 in Windows XP and that Opera 10 runs slow. Any suggestions?

When you get a script error while browsing, check CPU usage (Task Manager > performance). Most of times, it may have reached to 100%. It means nothing more than processor hasn’t enough speed to process data available on the page. You need to upgrade the processor. Changing the browser isn’t a solution.

Should you upgrade the RAM too? Check PF usage (Task Manager > performance) while script error. If the value is more than 256MB, definitely YES (close other programs when you test this).

Opera is one of the fastest browsers out there, however it does have some limitations with certain websites. Google's Chrome is a very fast browser as well.

Opera: http://www.opera.com/

Chrome: http://www.google.com/chrome

On a side note, you might want to consider adding more RAM to your system, it will drastically help your speed.

That trouble with Firefox doesn't seem hardware-related to me. Here is a helpful article:

Upgrading RAM is strongly advised.
