You have everything to worry about!

I have one solution which will first offer you safety...

I had similar problems, and believe me it doesn't take much - just one corrupted driver - before you need to completely reinstlal windows and lose all the files on your C: drive.

Firstly, I would suggest you make TWO partitions, one called C: for your SYSTEM (not personal files) and another called D: for STORAGE. If you use windows, keep your documents folders on D: and also do complete system backups to D: because the system restore doesn't work properly!

Secondly, I would advise you to get one of the liveCD's below. If you boot from these CD's, you will get a functionaly system, and a desktop with internet access, office software... These systems are immune to malware too! If you like them, you can also install them to your Hard Disk, and choose when you turn on if you want to go to a ubuntu desktop or a windows XP desktop.

You can browse your computer from these desktops, and copy any files you need, and write them to CD for safekeeping.

After that, you need to go to the download.com website and download installers (using the live CD if you wish) and save them on your Windows partition, so that you can boot windows and install them. I think basically it would be better to make a clean install of windows - so use a ubuntu disk to copy the folder from Windows/system32/DRIVERS, because you will need your drivers.

If you have a good internet connection, then download ubuntu AND openSuSe, AND PCLinuxOS, because they are slightly different - I prefer Ubuntu but I don't know about you!

Good luck!

and Steve, not everyone is interested to make their system look like Windows - install AVANT WINDOW NAVIGATOR if you want to make it look cool, and move that menu bar to the side so you can make better use of your desktop space - then you type CTRL+F2 and type in the first letters of whatever you launch instead of using silly menu's (that's where Vista learned to improve over XP - you look like a frustrated XP user!)

Then, if you want to use Photoshop, you install VirtualBox, and install the newest version of Photoshop, instead of using Wine to run the rather old CS2!

I suggest to take it to a computer technician shop and pay the money to fix it

I suggest for the technician to partition the hard drive, copy your personal stuff to the new partition, then format the operating system and re install windows from your disk.

Here is more info, take a print of this and take it to the computer shop.

Partition the Hard drive – reasons

========================

Firstly C drive is compulsory for the Operating System (XP) (Vista), and you install all your programs on C drive.

D drive is made for YOUR files.

What you do is MOVE my documents to D drive.

When you download music, videos, pictures from your camera or make any MS Office documents or save emails, you save it on D drive.

The reason for this is to do with

1. Hard drive failure - usually a failed hard drive will not boot, but can often be seen when hooked up as a slave.

So when you get your new hard drive up and running, you can copy D drive from your old to your new. You haven’t lost anything.

2. Virus. Normally virus are programmed to infect C drive. If you get a bad virus all that has to be done is format the C drive partition then re install you OS and programs from disks.

You haven’t lost your personal stuff because its on D drive.

3. Scanning your C drive for virus or spyware. These malware programs live on C drive. It is not necessary to scan D drive. It is a lot quicker to scan a small partition than a large hard drive.

Now you can see the above is compromised by the fact that programs get updates and lots of programs are installed from the net. Therefore if you had to wipe out C drive it be hard to get it back to how it was.

To remedy this we use Norton Ghost to image C drive and store the Image on D drive.

(Vista requires a version 10 or newer of Ghost).

If you get a bad virus you just use the Ghost disk to boot up on, then copy the image stored on D drive back over C drive.

It takes less than 30 mins to rebuild C drive.

Also you may have this running on say a 250 gig HDD, and it fails. You buy a new 400 gig HDD and install both into you computer, the failed one as a slave.

Using the ghost disk to boot up on, you partition the 400 C drive to 30 gig (XP)and the remaining to D drive. Then you repack C drive from the image. Then Copy your old D drive files to your new one. In a time of less than 1 hour and it’s all running. The image loads all the drivers, OS everything.

Then you update new images of C drive every few months so that the one stored on D drive is not to far out of date.

Seems like you might have some malware, probably a rootkit if someone logged onto your computer. I would suggest running explorer and checking your recently changed files. Video addons is a good place to look along with explorer. I can't get to into it because I don't know your situation. You can check your system audits as well under administrative in control panel. If all else fails uninstall IE and use firefox ;) Won't have to worry about viruses as much with firefox

He does desire a no-fornicators regulation (its interior the bible) in spite of the shown fact that, devil has non everlasting rulership over the earth so his rules are flaunted. Its a count number of time earlier gay marriage is made legal. Jehovah will decide fornicators & those flaunting his different rules in the event that they do no longer substitute (i comprehend you asked the question as a mockery however the particularly difficulty did deserve a intense answer)

Woah sounds bad.

What do you use your computer for? If you use it for general things like movies, internet, pictures, an occasional game, office stuff, etc you might want to consider switching to Linux:

http://linuxmint.com/

It's a little different than Windows, but you should get used to it fairly quickly. And with Linux, you will never have to worry about a virus ever again. No more dealing with over-protective firewalls, resource-hogging antivirus/antispyware software, or anything like that.

You can message me if you need any more information

If you want to check Linux out, here's a video of my desktop:

Edit:

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. Linux is free

there is nothing to worry

Install a Anti Virus program I recommend Kaspersky Internet Security on your system and do a full system scan and it will remove all the viruses. + install a good anti spyware as well.

Asim
