Ahh man! i pretty sure its windows 7 beta!

bro i would say forget it, wait for the final version.

I recently installed on a HD cheked it out. Too many bugs. It does not recognise all the softwares too.

But if your that desperate to chek it out! install it on your local disk D.

But first burn it to a dvd! and then install through it!

Hope that helped

bye!

What you want to do is called a "dual boot" system. You should be able to simply run the installation package, and when you get to the screen that lists the avaialble partitions, select the D: partition and let her rip.

Once you are finished, when you start the machine it will give you the option of choosing from the two operating systems.

If you have installed an operating system before, this should be pretty easy for you. If not, not so much, but still do-able. You will need to reinstall all your device drivers on the Windows 7 install, but the word is that your Windows Vista drivers should work, you will just need to select the driver cache on the C: drive when installing your drivers in Device Manager.

Boot from Windows 7 setup disk and make a separate installation on drive D (not an upgrade Vista) ! You will have two operating systems on your PC.

Acronis Disk Director can help you to do that.

It allows you to install 100 or more multiple operating systems (OSes) on one computer. You can boot an OS from any partition on any hard disk or have several multiboot systems on the same partition. This completely redesigned solution is now easier to use and faster.

till now make the determination to downgrade to XP, verify that there are drivers available for the laptop. Many laptops are no longer designed to run with XP and no drivers are available. you will additionally could purchase a clean activation code for XP as you could no longer reuse the only out of your previous computer. Microsoft now no longer sells them. solid success getting one... If drivers and an actiavtion code are available, then you quite can installation XP on a Win7 laptop in basic terms approximately as extremely as you probably did the XP reinstall. because of the fact shifting from Win7 to XP is seen to be a downgrade, the residing house windows Installer will refuse to do it. till now you're able to do the installation you may delete the partition that holds residing house windows 7 and recreate it. that's regularly completed with the Fdisk DOS ordinary working from a bootable floppy or CD. Then run the XP installation, recreate the partition, and format it NTFS. Then in basic terms enable the installation run from there. Why in the worldwide you desire to try this, I have not any clue. you're shifting from an staggering new OS to one that is now no longer bought. Microsoft has already stopped merchandising XP and could end customer help later this 12 months. (it may desire to proceed constrained help for agencies.) as quickly as that happens that's going to go away XP extensive open to any new secure practices holes, bugs or viruses. not greater automated (or unfastened) updates for XP. additionally interior of yet another 12 months no person would be merchandising the two application or hardware properly matched with XP. that's going to likely be a lifeless OS, enable it relax in peace. a minimum of provide Win 7 a metamorphosis (run it for 60 days) till now you toss it. you may desire to discover it quite is it quite worth having. in case you desire something that makes use of fewer factors, could I recommend residing house windows ninety 8? It makes use of even under XP. Or residing house windows ninety 5, which makes use of much less yet. or perchance residing house windows 3.a million? It has a decrease requirement yet (under a million/2 gb of reminiscence). yet no one is claiming you may pass lower back to them....their are historical. A 12 months from now XP would be in that exact same team.

you either have to have 2 partitions on your current hard drive or get another hard drive and install it on the new one
